Lake Shore Fire District

7th Battalion Hockey Team

The 7th Battalion hockey team was formed in January, 1996.  The team is made up of career and volunteer firefighters from the four fire departments in the Town of Greece, and firefighters from the City of Rochester.

The team plays two 11 game halves, including playoffs.  The first half of the season runs between September and December.  The second half of the season runs between January and May.  The games are played at the Lakeshore Rinks on Thursday nights.  Face-off times vary from 7:00pm and 10:30pm, which the team calls the "10 o'clock games (West Coast Games)".

In the six years this team has been together, they have won 4 championships.

Yes, the team does get into a scuffle or two once in a while out on the ice.  One year, the team was almost not allowed back to play due to the numerous scuffles, but with a little negotiating, they were finally allowed back.  The team has calmed down a little since, but they still, and never will, back down from anyone.  In fact, there have been a couple times when even the fans got involved.

So, if you want to see some "good ol' firemen" playing hockey, come on down and check them out!  The ticket prices are VERY reasonable!
