Lake Shore Fire District

Water / Ice Rescue Team

As you may have read in other pages within the site, the Lake Shore Fire District has QUITE a few bodies of water within its realm of protection, one of them being Lake Ontario, along with several smaller ponds.

To deal with the potential of a water or ice incident, such as a boat accident or drowning, Lake Shore has assembled a group of well trained individuals into a water and ice rescue team.  We have equipment dedicated to the incidents that may arise on the bodies of water that surround us.

Lake Shore prides itself in ensuring its interested members are fully trained in water and ice rescue techniques.  We perform many rescue drills in the preparation of an emergency rescue.  Recently, we were able to save 10 people from Braddocks Bay, some of whom fell through the ice.
